As a Housing Options Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, prevention-focused service to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. You will be responsible for assessing housing needs and providing advice and support in accordance with relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities: Manage caseloads in line with Part VI and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 Apply the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 effectively, including conducting thorough assessments and creating robust Personalised Housing Plans Deliver a prevention-focused approach to homelessness, supporting service users to sustain accommodation or access suitable housing Assess complex cases, including those with a history of rough sleeping Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve sustainable housing outcomes What the client is looking for: In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience of housing legislation, particularly Parts VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996 Proven ability to apply the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 in a practical setting Experience working in a housing options or homelessness prevention role Ability to assess complex cases and develop personalised and effective housing solutions Excellent communication, case management, and problem-solving skills How to Apply: Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
