HR Generalist – Glasgow/Edinburgh

We're creating a brand new HR Generalist role to support our Glasgow and Edinburgh operations. This is your chance to join GateGroup – a global organisation with serious ambition – and build something meaningful from day one.
This role is split 60% recruitment and 40% HR generalist work, so you'll need to be comfortable switching between sourcing talent and supporting managers through the full spectrum of employee relations.
What you'll be doing:
Recruitment (60%)
* Drive local recruitment campaigns and manage the entire hiring process
* Plan and implement seasonal recruitment ahead of demand
* Work with agency providers to ensure coverage and contingency planning
* Organise selection processes and participate in hiring decisions
* Handle work permit applications and ensure compliance with security vetting
HR Generalist (40%)
* Provide expert advice to managers on ER matters – disciplinaries, grievances, capability, absence management
* Support restructuring, redundancy, redeployment, and retirement processes
* Manage occupational health referrals and short/long-term absence cases
* Advise on contractual issues and terms and conditions
* Represent HR at internal and external meetings
* Maintain accurate, secure HR records and produce management reports on key metrics
* Identify and implement improvements to HR systems and processes
* Organise employee events and manage internal communications
What we're looking for:
* Solid ER/IR experience with current employment law knowledge
* CIPD qualified or working towards it
* Confident managing the full recruitment lifecycle
* Strong communicator – written and verbal – who stays calm under pressure
* Excellent attention to detail and highly organised
* Strong IT skills across Microsoft Office
* A self-starter who works autonomously and manages competing deadlines
* Tactful, approachable, fair, and discreet
* Someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building things from scratch
