Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in A residential care home environment. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those requiring assistance due to age, illness, or disability. The Support Worker will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of clients while promoting their independence and dignity.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Support clients with medication management as per their care plans.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
* Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required.
* Uphold the principles of dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in patient care, nursing homes, home care, childcare, senior care, or dementia care is highly desirable.
* A caring and patient attitude towards individuals requiring support.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
* Relevant qualifications or training in health and social care would be an advantage but not essential.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for those required to transport clients.
