Role Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant working in Early Years and KS1, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 SEN support for young pupils with autism and additional needs
* Supporting children in line with individual learning plans and EHCP-style targets
* Helping pupils develop early communication, attention, and interaction skills
* Supporting early literacy and numeracy through structured, play-based learning
* Assisting with sensory regulation and emotional development
* Implementing visual timetables, routines, and structured activities
* Supporting pupils during transitions between activities and environments
* Encouraging independence while providing reassurance and guidance
* Supporting pupils during playtime and lunchtime where needed
* Working closely with class teachers and Early Years practitioners
* Observing and recording pupil progress to support SEN planning
* Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
