Overview
To manage a small team of Embedded & System Software engineers. Working on new and maintaining existing product development in a multi-discipline team environment.
Responsibilities
* Assignment and management of appropriate resources providing motivation, supervision and guidance of software engineering staff.
* Supervision and policing to ensure adherence to current Huntleigh software design controls & processes.
* Collaborate with Engineers to create Software development plans, Software Specifications, Software Architecture Specifications, and be responsible for the upkeep of all Software Design documentation.
* Maintain awareness of software technology advancement and its application to products.
* Maintain understanding of target hardware/software interfaces.
* Advise on and implement appropriate tools for software development and maintenance, for example:
o Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipeline
o Configuration management, Test & Analysis tools
o Compilers & interpreters
o Other tools for efficient software development & maintenance
* Project management, including the generation of regular progress reports.
* Liaison with other departments in order to ensure a smooth and rapid transition of new products from design to market.
* Any other duties as required enabling the organisational objectives to be met.
Qualifications
* Qualified to degree level in software engineering or equivalent with a proven track record of managing a small software team.
* Experience in a medical software design environment or similar highly regulated environment.
* Experience of embedded & application development environment.
* Experience in C, C++ & C#, .NET Framework, WPF, SQL Server, Windows OS.
* Software version control and configuration management, e.g. Azure DevOps etc.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies, e.g. Agile.
* Familiar with requirements capture and maintenance tools, e.g. Jama.
