The Role:

We're looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our shop floor operations, develop our people, and help deliver our long-term strategic goals.
As our Production Manager, you will be the first line of management for Team Leaders and operators, working closely with senior leadership and the Planning & Scheduling Manager. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of production, ensuring delivery targets are achieved, KPIs are met, and the department operates safely, efficiently, and with a continuous improvement mindset.
What You'll Do:
Drive Production Excellence;
Ensure production schedules are adhered to in collaboration with the Planning & Scheduling Manager.
Monitor departmental KPIs and take action to maintain performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and People.Lead & Develop Teams;
Manage, mentor, and motivate Team Leaders and operators.
Conduct monthly performance reviews and drive skills development, cross-training, and cultural change.
Support recruitment, performance management, and team development alongside HR.Plan Capacity & Resources;
Forecast and evaluate production capacity needs in line with business growth.
Plan labour, machinery, and space requirements, escalating capacity challenges when needed.
Work with HR to ensure resource levels are appropriate based on future output.Optimise Workflow & Processes;
Continuously improve production processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and waste‑reduction methodologies.
Implement process enhancements, automation, and efficiency improvements.Ensure Quality & Compliance;
Work with Quality Assurance to maintain product standards and implement CAPA where needed.
Champion a safe working environment by ensuring inspections, audits, SOP compliance, PPE usage, and accurate record‑keeping.Solve Problems & Drive Improvement;
Respond quickly to issues such as equipment failures, material shortages, or staffing gaps.
Lead root-cause analysis and long-term preventive action planning.
Empower teams to proactively identify and resolve issues.Support Business Growth;
Align production capabilities with the company's long-term strategic plan.
Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements to maintain competitiveness.What You'll Bring:
Previous experience managing teams within a manufacturing environment (engineering/fabrication preferred).
Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of sheet steel (advantageous).
Experience reporting at management level with the ability to analyse and present performance data.
