Exciting Opportunity: Senior Development Engineer at JCB
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Engineer to join the Excavators Engineering team responsible for Heavyline Tracked and Wheeled Excavators. This role offers the chance to play a key part in developing our future product range and working on new technology developments.
Responsibilities
* Ownership and management of Testing and Development activities from concept to engineering sign-off.
* Testing and development of entire machines to meet standards.
* Analysis, reporting, and technical documentation for product homologation and legislative compliance.
* Managing machine endurance testing, diagnosing issues, and proposing solutions.
* Conducting performance and efficiency testing.
* Customer acceptance trials, benchmarking, and liaising with test drivers.
* Collaborating with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
* Developing software and tuning control systems.
* Commissioning and developing complex subsystems.
* Designing and running component endurance tests.
* Planning and facilitating various tests internally and externally.
* Sourcing instrumentation for testing.
* Training and supervising Junior Engineers and assisting with software documentation.
* Driving innovation and product improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
* Degree in engineering or relevant qualifications with experience.
* Experience in off-highway vehicle development, preferably excavators.
* Knowledge of data acquisition, vehicle testing, and engineering principles.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Knowledge of powertrain, hydraulics, software, and electrical systems.
* Ability to design tests, analyze data, and ensure compliance with standards.
* Effective presentation skills and leadership experience.
* Hands-on skills with hydraulics and mechanical parts.
