Are you passionate about physical education and ready to lead a thriving department? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head of PE to join our team on a 1-year maternity cover contract starting in January.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic PE department across Key Stage 3 and 4, promote healthy lifestyles, and inspire pupils to achieve their personal best—both in and out of the classroom.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the PE department and overseeing curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment.

Organising extracurricular sports, fixtures, and enrichment activities.

Promoting physical wellbeing, teamwork, and resilience across the school.

Supporting staff development and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.

Contributing to whole-school leadership and improvement.

What We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching PE across key stages.

Proven leadership or middle management experience (desirable).

A commitment to inclusive, engaging, and high-impact PE provision.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

A passion for sport, health, and pupil development.
