Health & Safety Apprentice
37 hours per week, based in Preston. 2 year fixed term contract. National Minimum Wage (£15,434.29 - £24,521.22).

Role Summary
We are looking for a Health and Safety Apprentice to join our Health, Safety & Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career or who is retraining, to gain a recognised qualification, hands‑on experience, and long‑term career prospects within health and safety. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship, working alongside experienced health and safety professionals while completing the Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Technician Apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
* Support health and safety activities across CGA offices, homes and communal areas
* Assist with inspections, audits and risk assessments
* Help maintain health and safety records and compliance documentation
* Support accident, incident and near‑miss investigations
* Assist in delivering Toolbox Talks, inductions and safety briefings
* Work with colleagues, contractors and tenants to promote safe working practices
* Learn how health and safety legislation applies within a housing association
* Play a role in promoting a positive, tenant‑focused safety culture
What We Are Looking For
* A genuine interest in health and safety
* GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent)
* Commitment to completing learning assessments and coursework alongside your role
* Good communication, organisational and IT skills
It Would Be Great If You Also Had
* Interest in housing, construction, facilities or the built environment
* A driving licence and use of a car for work
Working Arrangements
This role is based at our dock-front offices in Preston. You will also regularly visit our other locations across the city.
