Overview
Permanent position as Building Services Technician based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre (JCBC) on the Biomedical Campus. This role supports the Building Services Team to provide an outstanding service and ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the JCBC and the research groups housed here.
The post is available for up to full-time hours, with options for part-time or other flexible working arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Undertake breakdown and/or preventative maintenance and establish systems for routine inspections.
* Prioritise planned maintenance and carry out modifications and improvements to rooms.
* Facilitate waste disposal (WEEE & chemical waste) and assist with safety compliance activities and testing.
* Be part of an out-of-hours on-call rota.
* Work collaboratively within the Building Services Team to deliver high-quality service.
Qualifications and Skills
* Motivated individual with a proactive can-do approach to manage unpredictable workloads.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Knowledge of laboratory environments and hazards; IT competence.
* Previous experience in a similar role, including carrying out maintenance tasks.
