A successful and growing engineering manufacturer based in the East Yorkshire area is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established design office.

The role As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design team across a range of mechanical engineering activities, contributing to the development, production and support of engineered products.
Key responsibilities will include:
Producing and checking mechanical component and assembly drawings
Supporting manufacturing and assembly with accurate technical documentation
Working closely with electrical design and software teams to ensure designs meet project and customer requirements
Providing technical support to production, service teams, subcontractors and suppliers
Assisting with design changes, revisions and continuous improvement activities
Maintaining accurate records and documentation within the design office
Occasional travel to other UK sites, suppliers or customer locations when required
This role is primarily office-based and offers hands-on exposure to the full product lifecycle.
About you This role would suit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer or Junior Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking to develop their skills within a structured design environment.
We would be keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
A degree, HNC/HND or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Some experience or understanding of mechanical design, assembly or manufacturing environments
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software would be beneficial, but full training and support will be provided.
