We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our friendly, dedicated catering team at the Kingsway and Radbourne units. You may be required to work at other local sites on occasion.
Catering Assistants within the hospital play a key role in maintaining high standards of meal provision for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate should have good organisational and communication skills, be flexible, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Various posts are available, all involving weekend work: 1 x 15 hours, 1 x 13 hours, 1 x 11 hours, and 1 x 9 hours, all at enhanced NHS weekend rates.

* Be an integral part of the Catering Team, ensuring the safe provision of catering services to patients, staff, and visitors.
* Work in various settings including kitchens, restaurants, coffee shops, and pot wash areas on a rota basis.

Job responsibilities
* Assist with food service in kitchens and with meeting refreshments.
* Help in cleaning and washing up, including operating dishwashers as required.
* Uphold Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations according to training.
* Assist with HACCP system operations, including temperature checks and recordings.
* Set up meeting rooms for refreshments.
* Handle cashier duties, ensuring accurate sales and cash reconciliation.
* Collect dirty crockery and deliver/collect food trolleys to wards.
* Prepare salads and sandwiches for patients and retail, and assist with buffets.
* Help with stock management and cleaning within the department, adhering to COSHH regulations.
* Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Catering Supervisor or Manager.
Person Specification
* Experience in a busy catering environment preferred.
* Basic food hygiene certificate required.
* Cash handling and register use skills.
