Axcis Education are working closely to support an all-through specialist school in Torbay for pupils who have profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The special school are looking for a teaching assistant to start in November and January. The school hours are 8.45-15.15. The rate of pay for this position is between £13.69-£15.00p/h, depending on your previous experience and qualifications. The school currently have almost 200 pupils enrolled and have 20 classrooms for pupils in EYFS to Key Stage 5. The school has state of the art facilities to support the ongoing development of every pupil’s EHCP need, providing a safe, nurturing, and happy environment to allow pupils to flourish. The school provide a child-centered curriculum, which provides breadth and balance, while preparing pupils for challenges they will face in adulthood. For this position, the school are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: •Experience of working with children, ideally children with SEND. •Bubbly, friendly and approachable characteristics. •A resilient and robust attitude and calmness under stressful circumstances. •A passion for supporting children with special educational and disability needs. The school would also welcome candidates who have additional qualifications, including: •Experience working with SEND pupils. •Level 2 Qualification •Level 3 Qualification •Intimate care experience.
