CNC Lathe Programmer

The Role:
As a CNC Lathe Programmer, you will be responsible for the full cradle-to-completion machining process. Your main duties will include:
* Creating and editing programs directly at the machine using Fanuc controls
* Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small-to-medium batch components
* Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Selecting appropriate tooling, setting up workholding, and performing tool offsets
* Carrying out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
* Maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring components meet tight tolerances
* Troubleshooting machining issues and making necessary adjustments to optimise cycle times and surface finish
* Keeping work areas clean, safe, and compliant with company standards
The Ideal Candidate:
* Strong experience programming CNC lathes using Fanuc
* Able to work with a variety of metals including steel, stainless, alloys, and exotics (advantageous)
* Confident with tight tolerances and precision engineering environments
* Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently on an afternoon shiftGood understanding of machining principles, cutting speeds, and feeds
* Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
