As a Store Manager at Booker, you’ll be free to use your skills to help our business grow. It’s an exciting opportunity to really let your talent shine. You will build rapport with local business owners, listen to their needs, and help a range of customers including cafes, pubs, restaurants, caterers, retailers, corner shops and newsagents to thrive.
Booker is a leading food and drink wholesaler. Our stores, or Business Centres as we refer to them, work mainly with local B2C customers and have a positive impact in the towns and communities where they’re based. We offer more than the right products at the right price; we take customer relationships to the next level by providing practical, community-minded support to local businesses.
Responsibilities
* Inspire and manage the team to perform at their best, support managers, drive sales, and take total responsibility for the store’s performance.
* Ensure health, safety and legal compliance, operating a secure store that meets regulatory requirements.
* Use initiative to improve the customer experience and raise customer satisfaction, with a focus on proactive service and commercial awareness.
* Balance responsibilities on the shop floor with broader business needs, including online and delivery services.
* Develop and shape teams to deliver the best combination of choice, price and service for customers.
Qualifications
* Experience in the food sector and the ability to build rapport with customers.
* Strong management skills with the ability to develop teams and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
* Commercial mindset with attention to detail and a passion for customer-focused service.
