Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff. This role is for a Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a sub‑specialty interest in skin cancer, to join the Plastic Surgery Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Position Details
* Shift pattern: Fixed elective cover – no on call.
* Contract: Fixed term 6 months.
Responsibilities
* Support skin cancer excision and reconstruction, including management of benign and malignant skin lesions.
* Perform sentinel lymph node biopsies and nodal dissections.
* Carry out extensive skin lesion excision and reconstruction procedures.
* Collaborate with the Plastic Surgery team to develop a clearly defined job plan.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
* UK‑trained clinicians: evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT, or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), or within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
* Non‑UK applicants: demonstrate equivalent training.
