Marine Water Quality Officer - 32656 (Environment Agency)
Two positions available: one permanent and one fixed‑term (6 months).
Responsibilities
* Provide timely answers to technical questions.
* Review reports and summarise key information for decision‑making.
* Use data to inform water‑quality models.
* Apply sound records management principles.
* Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection.
* Summarise and communicate technical work, escalating challenges when needed.
* Build strong relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners.
* Use initiative to contribute to the work of the team and wider organisation.
Qualifications and Skills
* Holder of a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
* Desirable: Knowledge of water quality and marine environment; working toward professional membership.
* Experience in data analysis and familiarity with modelling software.
* Proficiency in Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS; experience with specialist packages such as Mike or Cormix is an advantage.
* Comfortable working in a virtual team; willingness to travel for occasional national meetings.
* Training and development opportunities will be provided.
