Mobile Plant Operator
Location: Imerys, St Austell, Cornwall
Salary: £25,445.42 base + £4,174.82 shift allowance (72‑shift pattern)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Shifts: 12 hour days, rotating 72‑shift pattern
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will safely and efficiently operate a Rigid Dump Truck (Caterpillar 775G) across our Western and Central mining areas. You’ll play a key role in keeping material moving—including kaolin, sand, rock, overburden and waste—while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
Your Responsibilities
* Complete pre‑shift inspections and report defects promptly
* Operate the RDT safely, maximising productivity and reducing waiting time
* Attend daily briefings and follow all site rules, traffic management plans and speed limits
* Tip materials in correct locations to maintain product quality
* Report any safety or environmental concerns immediately
* Work closely with Site Supervisors, Chargehands and fellow Mobile Plant Operators
* Support continuous improvement efforts across safety, environment and production

What We’re Looking For
- Driving licence valid in the UK
- Experience operating heavy mobile plant (Desired but not necessary)
- Strong communication and timekeeping
- Flexible, safety‑focused mindset
- MPQC or CPCS accreditation (or willingness to train)
