Kind regards, Joe Wilkinson Total Care Recruitment Ltd Cook Manager Job Description Location: Various Homes Across Belfast & Surrounding Areas Hours: 3040 hours per week (varies by site) Pay Rate: £13.39£15.45 per hour Reports to: Home Manager Contract: Permanent Main Purpose of the Role The Cook Manager will lead a team to run the catering operation within the home. This includes preparing high-quality, home-cooked, fresh, and nutritious meals while catering for all dietary and cultural needs of residents. Main Duties and Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and direct a team of kitchen staff to deliver a first-class catering service to residents. Understand and accommodate the individual nutritional needs and choices of residents. Prepare menus in consultation with the Home Manager, residents, families, and catering committees following best practice guidance. Prepare, cook, and serve meals, ensuring all dietary needs and personal preferences are met. Plan and deliver set four-weekly menus, ensuring substitutions are authorised by the Home Manager and any allergen changes are clearly communicated. Manage and work within the agreed catering budget. Engage regularly with residents, relatives, visitors, and colleagues to gather feedback and continually improve service quality. Prepare beverages and snacks throughout the day according to residents needs and choices. Ensure all food served meets required nutritional and quality standards. Maintain full compliance with the Company Food Safety Management System and ensure a safe kitchen environment. Oversee stock control, rotation, and storage, and ensure all deliveries are checked and recorded properly. Monitor and replenish kitchen supplies as needed in line with company procedures. Ensure the presentation and cleanliness of dining areas are consistently high. Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records. Supervise kitchen staff and report any issues or concerns to the Home Manager promptly. Maintain excellent standards of hygiene and food preparation to meet environmental and food safety standards. Report any defective kitchen equipment to the Home Manager or Maintenance team promptly. Conduct annual appraisals for kitchen colleagues under the direction of the Home Manager. Carry out quarterly staff supervision and personal development plans as required. General Responsibilities Take responsibility for your own health, safety, and welfare, as well as that of colleagues, residents, and visitors. Be familiar with Beaumonts policies on Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Whistleblowing. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Beaumont Information Governance Policy.
