Your new role We are recruiting for a full‑time SENCO (40 hours per week) at our Eastbourne setting. Candidates must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, with a strong interest or experience in supporting children with SEND. As the Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you play a crucial role in ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. You will champion inclusive practice, guide colleagues, and work closely with families and external professionals to create the best possible outcomes for children. Your responsibilities will include: Identifying and supporting children with additional needs through early intervention Creating and reviewing targeted support plans and individual learning strategies Working closely with staff to model inclusive practice and provide guidance Building strong, supportive relationships with families Liaising with external agencies, such as health visitors, speech and language therapists, and SEND services Ensuring the nursery meets all statutory requirements relating to SEND Keeping accurate records and contributing to assessments and reports Supporting staff training and development in SEND awareness and practice This role suits someone who is compassionate, organised, confident in communication, and committed to ensuring every child feels valued, supported and understood.
