Overall Purpose
The role will be responsible for statutory financial and tax compliance and planning. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring a robust financial control environment, running the annual audit process and preparing the consolidated and individual financial statements. In addition, the role will be responsible for tax compliance, including preparing VAT returns, annual tax submissions, liaising with our tax specialists and supporting the Group Financial Controller in actioning strategic tax planning strategies.
Detailed Responsibilities
Produce the consolidated group and subsidiary financial statements, complying with relevant accounting standards.
* Ownership of the annual audit process, ensuring delivery of signed accounts by bank covenant deadline
* Lead the sales tax return process in all jurisdictions and supporting the wider business to understand and administer VAT arrangements
* Liaise with the external company advisor to complete the annual tax returns and ensure corporation tax and deferred tax accounting is appropriately recognised
* Identify, implement & maintain procedures to improve the control environment
* Lead on ensuring the intercompany accounts are fully reconciled each month
* Preparation of transfer pricing adjustments across all entities
* Primary review of the balance sheet ensuring any reconciling items are actioned or recorded on the R&O (Risks & Opportunities) schedule.
* Owning the non-financial data such as the headcount reporting & ESG Reporting
Key Objectives for the next 6 months
Assessment of the group's control environment and development of strong controls
1. Ensure all statutory adjustments are presented in Netsuite and reconciles to historic accounts
2. Embed balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end accounting process ensuring any reconciling items are actioned or recorded on the R&O (Risks & Opportunities) schedule.
3. Preparation of the a transfer pricing model by the end of the year following Deloitte feedback
4. Development of tax model to minimise corporation tax payments across the Group
Package:
* £75k plus 10% bonus
* Fully remote
* Occasional travel to the London office
* 25days holiday + bank holidays
Qualifications and experience:
* ACCA qualified with 3 years industry experience (Audit background preferred)
