The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Research Associate on a fixed‑term basis to contribute to an innovative and high‑impact research project within a leading academic department. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team and play a central role in advancing cutting‑edge research aligned with the University’s strategic priorities.
The role involves conducting independent and collaborative research, contributing to the design and execution of research methodologies, and producing high‑quality outputs suitable for publication in internationally recognised journals. The postholder will be responsible for collecting, managing and analysing data, maintaining accurate research records and ensuring compliance with relevant ethical and governance standards.
In addition to research responsibilities, the Research Associate will support the preparation of grant applications, engage in dissemination activities including conferences and workshops and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. The position may also include opportunities to contribute to teaching, supervision or mentoring of students, depending on departmental needs.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in a relevant discipline. Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic background and evidence of research experience, including publications or outputs appropriate to their career stage.
Required Expertise / Skills
Applicants should have strong analytical and research skills, with experience in relevant methodologies appropriate to the discipline. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to produce high‑quality academic publications. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team. Experience in data analysis, project coordination and engagement with academic or external stakeholders is desirable.
Salary Details
£36,024 – £44,263 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
