THE EMPLOYER IS: CIVIL SERVICE NORTH OF IRELAND CRICKET CLUB The Community Cricket Coach will support the delivery of cricket coaching and engagement programmes for CSNI CC. The Community Cricket Coach will play an important role in helping CSNI CC to increase our schools coaching programme (both primary and post-primary), outreach programmes within our community and our delivery to our existing members. An aim of this role is to grow our male and female youth membership as well as introducing cricket into our local schools, communities and other local sports clubs. Positions will be based at CSNI CC (The Pavillion, Stormont Estate), in local schools or community centres or at other NCU clubs with evening and weekend work required. Successful applicants will receive safeguarding, first aid, and coaching-related training.


Responsibilities

* Planning and delivering inclusive, enjoyable cricket sessions in schools, club, and community settings.
* Assist in the organisation and running of summer schemes, community events, and school competitions.
* Help facilitate youth coaching sessions and competitive matches, providing hands-on support for young players’ skill development.
* Prepare and maintain coaching equipment, ensuring sessions are delivered safely and efficiently.
* Record participant attendance and feedback to support programme monitoring.
* Engage positively with players, parents, teachers, and volunteers to represent CSNI CC in the community.
* Undertake relevant training and development opportunities provided by CSNI CC, including safeguarding, first aid and coaching qualifications.


Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

* Genuine interest in sport, coaching, or community development.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Good communication skills and willingness to learn.

Desirable Skills

* Basic knowledge or playing experience of cricket.
* Experience working or volunteering with children, young people, or community groups.
* Basic IT skills for recording data and reporting participation.
* Access to transport for travel between schools and venues.
* Interest in developing a career in sport, youth work, or education.
* Valid Driving Licence.
* Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

The Employer is: CIVIL SERVICE NORTH OF IRELAND CRICKET CLUB JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
