A long‑standing, medium‑sized regional contractor is looking to appoint an Assistant Site Manager to support delivery across two uing projects between Winchester and Reading. These schemes sit within themercial and education sectors, with values ranging from £1 million to £6 million.This is a key hire aimed at developing the next generation of site managers within the business. You’ll work closely with experienced Project and Site Managers, gaining hands‑on exposure to small‑to‑medium sized projects in apany that prides itself on local work, structured training and long‑term progression.
The RoleYou will support the site leadership team across two live construction projects, taking responsibility for day‑to‑day coordination, safety standards and assisting in the smooth running of all site operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with daily site operations on projects between £1m–£6m
2. Support subcontractor coordination and quality control
3. Help maintain programme and progress tracking
4. Review drawings and support technical coordination
5. Ensure strong health & safety standards on site
6. Liaise with the design,mercial and project teams
7. Contribute to snagging, QA checks, and site documentation
8. Provide general support to the Site/Project Manager across both schemes
Ideal Candidate
9. 1–2 years’ experience in a Site Management or Assistant Site Management role
10. Experience working onmercial or education projects is beneficial
11. Qualification desirable but not essential: Construction degree / HNC / HND (or similar)
12. A trade background in civils or internal finishes is also a strong option
13. Confidentmunicator, organised, and keen to learn
14. SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid beneficial (or willingness to obtain)
15. Motivated, career‑driven, and looking for long‑term progression
