Location: Home-based, UK (travel to London office and events required)
Reports to: Accounts Director (NHS & Public Sector)
Hours: 37.5 per week

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive Cambridge Spark's growth in the NHS and wider public services sector. This role involves in-person networking and event participation to generate qualified leads for our sales team. The position does not include people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Active Field Presence: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking forums across the public sector to build visibility.
2. Event Strategy & Execution: Identify, attend, and evaluate key public sector events; manage sponsorships and conference participation; oversee exhibition stands and networking activities; convert connections into business opportunities.
3. Networking & Relationship Building: Engage actively in public sector forums and communities to create engagement opportunities with decision-makers.
4. Lead Generation: Convert activities into qualified opportunities through follow-up and relationship nurturing.
5. Pipeline Development: Maintain a pipeline of opportunities, working closely with sales for effective handover.
6. Market Intelligence: Track digital transformation initiatives to identify new opportunities.
7. Performance Tracking: Monitor metrics like ROI, leads, meetings, and pipeline value.
8. Collaborative Working: Collaborate with marketing on events.
Candidate Specification
Essential: Proven field-based business development in public sector, face-to-face relationship skills, event management experience, excellent presentation skills, self-motivated, strong commercial acumen, valid UK driving license.
Desirable: Experience in sponsorship negotiations, public sector understanding, working in high-growth environments.
