We are currently looking for a Depot Assistant/Yardman to join our busy depot in Halesowen.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide support to the Foreman and Depot Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the depot.
The role will be predominately based in the Depot, with some field-based work as and when required by the business. The job comes with a competitive salary, 25 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:
1. Loading and off-loading of equipment as necessary
2. Ensuring all equipment is checked in on return to the depot
3. Completing the necessary paperwork associated with deliveries/collections
4. Inspecting equipment on return to the depot for signs of mis-use and reporting any damage to office staff
5. Daily defect reports on forklift trucks to be completed
6. Assisting Foreman and engineers in preparing equipment for hire
7. Make deliveries to site using company vehicles, may on occasion include towing equipment to/from site
8. Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace
9. Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times.
Desired skills and experience:
We are looking for a well organised individual who has/is;
Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years
Forklift licence preferable (training provided if required)
Ability to Tow trailers (training provided if required)
Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Capability to communicate on all levels
Eager to provide excellent customer service at all times
Ability to prioritise workload
