Traincrew Resource Controller Permanent £47,181 per annum Do you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments? Chiltern Railways is looking for an organised and detail-oriented Traincrew Resource Controller to ensure the effective resourcing of train crew during service disruptions or other unplanned situations. In this key role, you’ll help maintain our high service standards by managing ad-hoc rostering and coordinating resources across multiple depots. Chiltern Railways operates commuter/regional rail passenger services from its Central London terminus at London Marylebone along the M40 corridor to destinations in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, as well as long-distance services to the West Midlands. Key Responsibilities: * Manage the resourcing of train crew during service disruptions, ensuring that the necessary personnel are in place to keep services running smoothly. * Liaise with depots, Network Rail, and other departments to resolve day-to-day train crew service-related issues. * Ensure train crew resources are optimised to deliver the Chiltern Railways train plan, using IRMA and other internal systems to track and update train crew alterations. * Coordinate with train crew during out-of-course train running or service disruption, making swift decisions to ensure minimal delays. * Update the Compass log with train crew-related issues, including reasons for absence, and negotiate with other TOCs for short-term hire of train crew as necessary. * Ensure next-day rosters are completed and distributed, maintaining up-to-date daily roster appearance sheets for drivers and train managers. Qualifications and Experience: * Experience in resourcing or rostering environments, preferably within the rail industry. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage resources in a high-pressure, real-time environment. * IT literacy, including experience with internal rail systems such as Compass and IRMA (desirable but not essential). * A strong problem solver with a proactive approach to dealing with service disruptions and unplanned situations. * GSCE - English and Maths At Chiltern, we work in an environment where diversity is essential, inclusion is our culture, and each person knows they belong and matter.
