About this Role
Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more
Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.
At Wodensborough Ormiston Academy, we are seeking a professional, welcoming and highly organised Receptionist/Administrator to be the first point of contact for our academy. The academy receptionist is the face and voice of the academy and Ormiston Academies Trust, responsible for contributing to the culture of the academy and managing the front desk, greeting visitors, and handling a variety of administrative tasks. The role is critical in serving the local community and creating a positive and welcoming first impression.
We are looking for someone who is:
* Confident, polite and approachable, with excellent communication skills.
* Experienced in reception or customer service roles, ideally with at least 2 years of experience.
* Skilled in using Microsoft Office and comfortable with school management information systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Cpoms, Classcharts, or willing to learn.
* Highly organised, able to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Professional, reliable and discreet, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
* Flexible, solution-focused and a strong team player.
At Wodensborough Ormiston Academy, we are more than just a school – we are a thriving community. Guided by our ethos, “Believe, Achieve, Succeed”, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality education that raises aspirations and transforms lives.
We are a popular and heavily oversubscribed 11–16 mainstream school with the additional expertise and facilities to include two focused SEND provisions, for young people on the autistic spectrum, and for those who are deaf and hearing impaired (ARC and Deaf Academy). We have also developed a base on site to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. Furthermore, our small and bespoke sixth form provision (WOA6) caters for students in Years 12 and 13 who have EHCPs.
Why work for Ormiston?
Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset.
We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, your work will have purpose and meaning
Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys…
* The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive
* Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve
* Being part of a team and community where you belong – being part of a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities
* A supportive environment to grow your career – an extensive professional development programme, alongside flexible working arrangements and generous benefits
We believe that we all have an important part to play in raising standards. We truly believe that what we do in our classrooms changes lives. Why not come in, meet the team and join us on our journey?
