SEN Teaching Assistant – Camden
Location: Camden, Northwest London
Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school with a range of additional needs. The school is extremely accessible, just a short journey from King’s Cross, making it ideal for commuters.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, or SEMH. You will work closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and outside professionals to provide targeted support that helps pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN.
*
Assist in adapting learning materials and strategies.
*
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
*
Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times.
*
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to meet EHCP targets.
*
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
Requirements:
*
Experience supporting children with SEN (school-based preferred).
*
Calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
*
Ability to use strategies for autism, ADHD, or SEMH (training can be provided).
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
