Our client, a forward-thinking company is seeking a skilled HV/LV Systems Lead specialising in battery and charging systems. This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a pioneering leader dedicated to the decarbonisation of high-speed transport. Key Responsibilities: Lead and expand a multidisciplinary electrical engineering team focused on high-voltage and low-voltage systems. Act as the technical authority on HV/LV architecture, power distribution, safety, and control integration across battery and charging platforms. Oversee the development of electrical schematics, harnessing, component selection, and integration. Collaborate closely with software and systems teams, contributing to algorithm development for diagnostics, state estimation, and control strategies. Apply systems engineering principles to ensure traceability, validation, and integration of electrical functions. Provide technical leadership on key projects, ensuring robust design and delivery aligned with system requirements. Mentor and manage electrical engineers, supporting career development and performance reviews. Work with mechanical, software, and program management functions to ensure cohesive project execution. Support design reviews, safety assessments, DFMEA, and functional safety processes as required. Attend team meetings, conduct 1-1s, and fulfil reporting requirements as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, cultivating strong working relationships across the firm. Job Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Extensive experience in electrification projects within the automotive, industrial, or energy sectors. Experience of leading electrical engineering teams or acting as a technical lead. Experience in delivering HV/LV systems from concept through production. Familiarity with battery systems, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and vehicle-level electrical architecture. Deep understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including HV/LV distribution, EMC, grounding, and isolation techniques. Competence in system-level thinking and systems engineering processes. Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring engineers and managing team dynamics. Ability to support, review, and approve algorithms for diagnostics, fault detection, and state estimation. Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, including negotiation and presentation abilities. Excellent relationship management skills, with the capability to engage, negotiate, and resolve issues effectively. Results-oriented with exceptional organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple deliverables simultaneously.
