Assistant Public Rights of Way Officer
Location: Worcester
Salary: £24,976 - £26,197 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Working Arrangement: Hybrid and mobile; regular travel throughout Worcestershire County required.
Role Overview
The Public Rights of Way Operations Team is seeking an enthusiastic professional to contribute to the management of our Public Rights of Way network.
This is an interesting and varied post in which, working closely with and being mentored by others, you will be responsible for ensuring the public rights of way network is properly maintained. No two days are the same and the role suits people who enjoy a mix of outdoor, desk‑based and practical work while interacting with a variety of different people.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out inspections of public rights of way, respond to problems reported by the public, and draw up schedules of work to be carried out by contractors.
* Instruct and check work carried out by contractors and landowners.
* Work with a network of voluntary path wardens and supervise their work.
* Manage a very busy workload, work to strict deadlines, and exercise very good communication skills.
Qualifications
* Basic knowledge of Public Rights of Way.
* Ability to effectively manage a busy workload and meet strict deadlines.
* Strong communication skills.
