Looking for a meaningful role with flexible hours?
We’re looking for kind, proactive and reliable people to join us as Relief Support Workers in Hemel Hempstead. This is a flexible position, ideal for anyone who would prefer to work around other commitments. We're particularly happy to hear from people who are only available to work at weekends. Due to the nature of this role, we are only able to progress with applications from female candidates.
You’ll be joining a welcoming and supportive team who work alongside five brilliant people with learning disabilities, helping them to live independently in their own homes and enjoy the things that matter most to them.
What does a Relief Support Worker do?
Relief Support Workers provide cover when permanent team members are on leave or unavailable. You’d work closely with the people we support, helping them with daily routines, getting out and about, and pursuing the hobbies and interests they love.
For example, you might be supporting Sophie*, who enjoys music, arts and crafts, cooking, nature walks, going to the gym and spending time in the garden. The people we support live full and active lives, and you’ll play an important role in making each day count.
We’ll plan your shifts in advance wherever possible, and we’ll always do our best to work around your availability.
A few things to know
* You'll receive the same high-quality training and support as our permanent team
* If the time’s ever right, we’ll support you to apply for a permanent position
* You’ll need a full UK driving licence to unlock opportunities for the people we support
* Typical shifts run from 7am 2.15pm and 2.15pm 9.15pm. You would typically be expected to cover an entire shift.
