TeacherActive is looking for Cover Supervisors to assist with day-to-day cover in mainstream Secondary Schools in Hereford and surrounding areas.
Pay rates range from £90 to £120 per full day, depending on experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include supervising a classroom of approximately 25-30 students while they complete pre-prepared work during the teacher's absence. Your duties will involve taking registers, recording absences, keeping students on task, ensuring work is completed, minimizing classroom disruptions, maintaining student safety, and leaving the classroom tidy.
This role is ideal for:
* LSAs / Teaching Assistants interested in trying a cover teaching role
* Graduates seeking classroom experience to enhance their personal statements or job applications
* Individuals with experience as Sports Coaches or in activity clubs such as Scouts or Girl Guides
* Youth support workers
* Current cover supervisors looking for new opportunities
You can work full-time or part-time, with roles ranging from daily bookings to long-term assignments.
Requirements for a Cover Supervisor include:
* Excellent communication skills
* Basic understanding of the National Curriculum
* At least 6 months of experience working in an educational environment
* The ability to cover a variety of subjects
* A passion for working in education
* Self-motivation
* Confidence in managing a classroom
* Availability to work school hours (8:30-3:30)
