Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of food is maintained in accordance with the Company Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all production activities are completed in line with defined quality and food safety specifications;
2. Carry out routine quality and food safety checks, including weekly hygiene audits;
3. Collect, prepare, and submit product samples to external laboratories for testing;
4. Conduct internal audits in accordance with BRC, customer, and company standards;
5. Maintain and continuously improve site quality systems, including SOPs, supplier management; specifications, and internal audits in line with HACCP and legal requirements;
6. Assist in the investigation of non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions;
7. Review, maintain, and update the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting the implementation of a cloud-based QMS.
The Person:
8. A minimum of one year’s experience in a food manufacturing or quality control environment, or a relevant third-level food qualification;
9. Working knowledge of BRC, Tesco and other retailer standards;
10. The ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision and work as part of a team;
11. Demonstrate excellent communication and problem solving skills;
12. Have excellent attention to detail and maintain accurate, well-organised records.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
13. Internal audit trained, with experience conducting internal audits;
14. HACCP Level 3;
15. Experience of online traceability systems.
The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasionally, you may be asked to support our second site in Moy, and some flexibility with hours may be needed to cover holiday periods.
