The post offers broad exposure to complex fetal and maternal conditions, advanced ultrasound practice, prenatal diagnosis, and multidisciplinary care pathways. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake advanced training in Fetal Medicine at King’s College Hopsital an internationally recognised busy tertiary referral centre, contributing to the assessment and management of complex fetal conditions. The role will involve participation in specialist fetal medicine clinics, advanced obstetric ultrasound scanning, prenatal diagnosis, fetal surveillance, invasive procedures, multidisciplinary team meetings, and counselling of women and their families.
The post offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across complementary specialist services. At King's College Hospital, trainees will be exposed to a high-volume fetal medicine unit with expertise in fetal therapy, providing experience in the management of complex fetal conditions and advanced fetal interventions. At St Mary's Hospital, trainees will be actively involved in a busy Maternal Medicine service integrated within the Regional Maternal Medicine Network. This includes significant involvement in joint clinics with physicians from a range of specialties, supporting women with complex medical disorders in pregnancy and working closely with services across North West London.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities
• Participate in specialist Maternal Medicine clinics at St Mary's Hospital and Fetal Medicine Clinics at King's College Hospital, assessing and managing women with complex fetal conditions.
• Develop expertise in advanced obstetric ultrasound, fetal surveillance, prenatal diagnosis and invasive diagnostic procedures.
• Gain experience in the management of fetal anomalies, complications of multiple pregnancy and other high-risk pregnancies.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient management planning and counselling.
• Participate in specialist fetal therapy services at King's College Hospital, gaining exposure to advanced fetal interventions within a busy tertiary referral centre.
• Contribute to the Maternal Medicine service at St Mary's Hospital, which is integrated within the Regional Maternal Medicine Network.
• Work alongside physicians from a range of specialties in joint clinics, supporting women with complex medical disorders in pregnancy across North West London.
• Participate in teaching, audit, quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care, communication, documentation and professional practice.
• Complete the training requirements for subspecialty accreditation in Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
·Contribute to the specialist registrar on call rota 1:9.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MBBS or equivalent

2. MRCOG
3. Evidence of distinction at university or postgraduate examinations.
4. Evidence of further training in research, such as :Higher degree (MD/PhD) in relevant subspecialty
5. SITM in Fetal Care/Prenatal Diagnosis/Pregnancy Care/Maternal Medicine/ATSM in Fetal Medicine or Maternal Medicine
6. Evidence of further advanced clinical training in relevant sub-specialties (e.g. SITM. SIPM, ATSM, ASM, Diplomas).
Eligibility
Essential criteria
7. Eligible to work in the UK and hold either: •A UK national training number or equivalent, including successful completion of clinical training to ST4-6 level, confirmed by outcome 1 in most recent ARCP or equivalent. or •Hold a UK CCT (or Portfolio Pathway) and be on the UK Specialist Register in obstetrics and gynaecology, or hold a CCT or Portfolio Pathway that in due course will entitle you to enter the Specialist Register.
