The Corinium Museum holds large and internationally significant collections of archaeology, social and rural history and also operates the Visitor Information Centre. The collections span prehistory to the 19th century and cover a wide range of key curriculum subjects. We are looking for a creative and organised Events and Marketing Assistant to help deliver an engaging programme of activities at the Corinium Museum. This is an exciting opportunity to support a vibrant museum service, helping to grow audiences, promote events and strengthen community engagement. In this varied role, you will coordinate the museum’s events programme, support marketing activity including digital and print promotion and contribute to audience development across the district. You will also support the wider running of the museum service, including administration, event delivery and occasional front of house cover. The role is primarily based at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, with occasional work at the Resource Centre in Northleach. You will report to the Marketing and Events Manager and work closely with a collaborative and dedicated team. Hours: 15 hours per week, Monday & Wednesday (rota basis) This role requires flexibility, including working one evening per month and occasional weekends. Requirements We’re looking for someone who is: Experienced in a marketing, events or similar role Highly organised, methodical and able to manage multiple priorities A confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills Creative and proactive Comfortable coordinating events and managing associated logistics Experienced in working with community groups IT proficient, including working with digital platforms A strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively Able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines Motivated to develop partnerships and support audience growth Desirable Skills & Experience: Degree or relevant professional qualification Experience using social media for marketing and audience engagement Experience within museums, heritage, arts or cultural sectors Knowledge of event or exhibition programming Graphic design skills or experience creating promotional materials Experience producing or editing digital content such as video Understanding of issues affecting museums and the cultural sector Small scale project management experience Fundraising experience Strong negotiation skills Benefits We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued.
