Description
Lead the review, development, and maintenance of people policies, ensuring alignment with legislation, regulatory expectations, and internal governance procedures.
Manage the full lifecycle of employee relations casework, applying professional expertise, identifying risks, and advising on compliant and proportionate actions.
Maintain and manage the organisation's policy review schedule, ensuring timely updates, clear ownership, and effective communication across the business.
Work closely with the Policy Working Group and key stakeholders to provide evidence‑based recommendations for policy improvement.
Use people data, survey insights, and audit findings to identify trends and strengthen policy effectiveness, accessibility, and assurance.
Support policy consultation and implementation with our recognised trade union.
Identify opportunities to enhance self‑service resources and guidance to build organisational confidence and capability.
Contribute to the delivery of change projects such as the Competency Framework and Wellbeing Framework, ensuring policies support clear, consistent, and legally compliant practice.
Profile
Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
Proven experience of reviewing and updating policies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to managing priorities.
CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) desirable.
