Lead Clinician – Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a Lead Clinician – Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to manage the in-house Clinical Team at Skylarks School, Surrey. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and maintaining a therapy caseload, delivering bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students who may present with complex profiles of need (autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, SEMH). Meeting EHCP needs will be a primary focus, delivered through our all/group/individual clinical approaches embedded in clinical practice. The postholder will coordinate line management of the onsite clinical team and lead service development of the school-based clinical service, alongside the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
Location: Skylarks School – Surrey KT18 7LR
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent (term-time only or flexible around a full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience

Responsibilities
* Lead the on-site clinical team and provide line management for team members
* Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils with complex needs (autism, neurodivergence, SEMH, developmental trauma)
* Collaborate with SLT and Regional Clinical Lead to develop and enhance the school-based clinical service
* Contribute to creating an environment where pupils flourish and gain independence
* Support, supervise and develop colleagues, apprentices, students and therapy assistants
* Ensure therapies align with EHCP targets and clinical practice frameworks
Essential Criteria
* Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy
* Valid and up-to-date professional Registration & membership (e.g., HCPC, BPS)
* Experience with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs
* Clear, concise report writing for clinical and research activities
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team
* Ability to work independently and dynamically within a growing clinical service
* Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services in the designated specialty (preferred)
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
