Senior Buyer – Procurement specialist, this is a strategic position on a flagship project

This role offers you the chance to step into a strategic role on one of the UK’s most prestigious infrastructure developments, with a leading building envelope contractor.
By balancing the supply chain risk, whilst protecting project delivery you will be instrumental in delivering plant and materials for a £30M flagship project. In your role as Senior Buyer you will be empowered develop the procurement strategy and then drive this through the procurement process.
You will be given autonomy in your role to manage the supply chain, the site and commercial team, so leadership skills are essential. You will be expected to take ownership, influence stakeholders, and drive the procurement process. Longer term, there is potential to bring an Assistant Buyer into the team to support you.
You will be working on the building envelope package steelwork, roof and façade on a complex, large-scale infrastructure scheme which will require Senior Buyers to be commercially astute with a pragmatic approach to procurement.
Beyond the project itself, this role offers significant stability in a flat market. The business is forecast to grow from £50m to £60m next year and has remained unaffected by Gateway constraints, as they focus on airports and major infrastructure developments.
Working from home one day a week, you will be predominantly based out of their office with days on site too. A nice variety to add to the unique nature of this position.
