Functional Support Officer – Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our Competency Centre Reporting team. This role supports users of SAP and Civica Universal Pensions Management systems (UPM), focusing on delivering high-quality data insights through Business Intelligence (BI) reporting. Your work will help to drive performance across the Council’s Finance, HR, and Pensions services.

You will be part of the Competency Centre Reporting team; one of four specialist teams within the Competency Centre, which sits under the Business Services Centre. Together, we manage the Council’s SAP ERP system, Civica UPM Pensions, and related systems.

As a Reporting Analyst, you will contribute to the design, support, and maintenance of the end-to-end reporting architecture for SAP and Pensions users. This includes data extraction, transformation, and report delivery; using tools, data sources, and environments that enable effective BI reporting.

Key Responsibilities

* Provides responsive support to SAP and Civica UPM users, resolving reporting related queries and issues.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting needs, and translate them into actionable insights.
* Support system upgrades, testing, and the implementation of new features or modules.

Candidate Requirements

* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work independently whilst adhering to established procedures.
* Effective communication and collaborative teamwork abilities.
* A proactive and flexible approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and ICT skills.
* Experience of providing data insights, to support business operations.

This is a key role that makes a real impact on essential Council services.

Comprehensive support and training will be provided to ensure your success. The Council is presently engaged in a significant initiative to implement a new SAP system, heralding a period of substantial transformation and progress. Joining our organisation at this time presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the future development of our services and to create a lasting impact for years to come.

The Council operates a hybrid working model, combining remote and office-based work. The formal base is in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Some occasional out-of-hours work (evening/weekend) will be required. A substantial amount of the first 3 months (induction/onboarding) is anticipated to be office-based work onsite at our County Hall and/or Trent Bridge House offices in West Bridgford.

For more information or an informal discussion about this role, please contact Nigel Carlisle, Competency Centre Team Manager at nigel.carlisle@nottscc.gov.uk or 0115 9773809.

This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing Nottinghamshire County Council employees. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
