From September 2025, Alder Brook will have 2 provisions (Winton & Irlam) for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health. We educate up to 80 pupils on site in KS1 & KS2.
We are currently recruiting Passenger Assistants to work on our home to school transport.
This role is to assist children with various special education needs, and help ensure they are transported to school in a safe and caring way.
About the Role
The role is 20 hours part time, 5 days a week, and is school term time only. The passenger assistant will be collected and dropped off by the vehicle driver each day at a specified location.
Our school hours are 9am - 2.15pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 1pm Friday. The post holder will work 4 hours per day over a split shift of 2 x 2 hours. Hours may include a 7.30am or 7.45am start and an afternoon finish time up to 4pm or 4.15pm (1.30 - 2.30pm on Friday).
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners, and vulnerable adults. The post will be subject to comprehensive checks including references, health, right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS check, and checks against the barred list. Shortlisted candidates may also undergo an online search as part of due diligence.
