Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home
Our client is seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join their children’s residential home in Knowsley (CH36). This is an excellent opportunity for a caring professional who is passionate about supporting young people and making a genuine difference in their lives.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, promoting stability, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a team to provide consistent care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You will help maintain a structured, safe, and positive home environment while promoting independence, resilience, and wellbeing.
You will:
⦁ Support young people in line with their individual care plans, risk assessments, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans
⦁ Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
⦁ Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and life skills
⦁ Support young people with daily routines, education, and appointments
⦁ Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily logs and reports
⦁ Contribute to maintaining high standards within the home
⦁ Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and welfare of young people at all times
⦁ Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
⦁ Participate in shift work, including evenings and weekends
What We’re Looking For
⦁ Previous experience in a children’s residential setting (desirable)
⦁ Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs
⦁ A caring, patient, and resilient approach
⦁ Strong communication and teamwork skills
⦁ Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management principles
⦁ Ability to promote a positive and supportive home environment
⦁ Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent) – desirable
⦁ Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends
