Role Overview
We are seeking an Aspiring Youth Outreach Worker to support children and young people aged 7-19 with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, many of whom have experienced significant trauma. This role is ideal for Criminology and Psychology graduates interested in youth justice and outreach work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide holistic and restorative support to students, fostering empathy and understanding.
2. Assist in creating a safe and supportive environment, minimizing punitive measures.
3. Participate in a practical trial day to assess suitability for the role.
4. Support students' academic progress within their individual contexts.
5. Implement and support various therapies and holistic approaches, including positive engagement strategies.
6. Ensure the safety and well-being of students, adhering to safeguarding protocols.
7. Contribute to the development of students' independence and objectives, especially for those in assisted living.
Training and Development
All training, including SEN, safeguarding, MAPA, and other holistic approaches, will be provided by the school.
Candidate Profile
* Interest in clinical psychology or youth justice.
* Willingness to undertake physical work and adapt to challenging behaviors.
* Comfortable working with diverse cognitive abilities and behavioral challenges, including autism, OCD, social anxiety, and PDA.
Additional Information
A practical trial day will be arranged to ensure the role aligns with your skills and interests. Immediate start is preferred; however, a January start can be accommodated depending on notice periods.
