The basis of the role will be to develop and maintain a therapeutic environment which supports the patient in making positive changes. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will support and uphold a structured programme of treatment. The post holder will be expectedwork as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the provision of best practice care and treatment for young people and adults who require inpatient treatment for an eating disorder.As a Support Worker at Riverdale, you will be expected to carry out the outlined duties whilst always respecting the individuals you work with and behaving in a professional manner.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will workas a member of the multidisciplinary team within either the CAMHS or Adult Wards.They will be responsible for delivering a high standard of care to patients andtheir families. The post holder willdemonstrate empathic understanding, compassion and positive regard inmaintaining the ethos of the ward and values of the hospital.

* To supportpatients at mealtimes, supervise patients in the lounge after meals andsnacks for the allocated time.

* To assiststaff in the admission of new patients.
* To adopt aclean, tide appearance at all times and wear appropriate clothing as per hospitalpolicy.
* To help andbe courteous to all relatives and visitors, providing refreshments whererequired.
* To undertakeany other duties as reasonably required in line with individual capabilities.

Health & Safety
* To report immediately to the Service Manager, Ward Manager or Nurse inCharge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a patient,colleague, self or another.
* Follow this up with the correct documentation/reporting procedure.
* Understand and adhere to the hospital policies, procedures and ensurethat others also adhere to these.
* Take personal responsibility for maintaining up to date knowledge andadhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
* Works withinthe hospitals Equality and Diversity framework.
* Ensure that patient, and visitors understand the hospital policies andprocedures as it affects them.
