You'll play a vital role in supporting patients through their recovery, working alongside experienced nurses and therapists in a friendly, supportive environment.

Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Support Worker (CSW), you will undertake high quality, caring and compassionate personal care and associated duties under the direction and supervision of the registered professional and work as part of the multi‑disciplinary team. Your role is to support the registered professional in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate care to patients and their relatives.
Job responsibilities
* Uphold the Trust values and standards at all times and ensure records and documentation are maintained in line with the Data Protection Act.
* Maintain a professional and positive working environment and report any accidents or incidents as described by Trust policy.
* Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and others, adhere to the Dress Code, and assist other wards or teams as required.
* Assist with safeguarding any children or adults in accordance with Trust policies.
* Accurately and promptly carry out instructions of the registered professional and the core task list for CSWs.
* Report any patient concerns or observed changes in condition to the registered professional.
* Deliver a high standard of individualised care under the direction and supervision of the registered professional.
* Document all care delivered, countersigned by a registered professional, and keep it confidential.
* Assist in preparing patients for treatment, investigations or procedures, keep the clinical area clean and tidy, and adhere to infection control procedures.
* Chaperone or escort patients as required and support relatives with compassion and empathy.
* Assist with discharge process as directed by the registered professional.
* Welcome patients, relatives, visitors, and answer the telephone politely.
* Communicate effectively within the multi‑disciplinary team, report incidents, accidents, and complaints per policy.
* Use Trust information support system and other computer systems in accordance with policy.
* Take steps to ensure safe keeping of patients' property and clean and tidy storage areas.
* Participate in audit, clean and check beds and lockers, manage deliveries and stock, and support housekeeping duties.
Education, Training and Personal Development
* Attend mandatory training sessions: infection control, resuscitation and manual handling.
* Complete the Trust's CSW/Healthcare Assistant induction programme.
* Participate in the Trust appraisal process and undertake training as necessary.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changes in policies and procedures relevant to the post.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE level A–C in English and Maths or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience working as part of a team.
* Experience in providing care in a healthcare or people‑centred environment.
Skills
* Ability to work to an agreed level of competency.
* Strong written, verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
* Capacity to present information accurately, clearly and logically.
* Organise and prioritise workload effectively.
* Write accurately and legibly.

Other Job Requirements
* Flexible working over a 24‑hour period.
* Able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day.
