The Assistant Archivist will support the British Museum's Senior Archivist and Archivist in managing the archive service. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the movement, cataloguing, and management of archive holdings.
* Supporting mapping, rationalising, and classifying archive materials to meet accreditation standards.
* Providing access to staff and the public, assisting with enquiries, and supporting provenance research.
* Maintaining the organisation and proper storage of archive items.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
Requirements include a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience, proven information management skills, experience handling fragile records, and knowledge of archive cataloguing standards.
