I’m recruiting on behalf of my client for a Production Manager to join their UK operations team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Lead to step into a key leadership role within a structured, quality-driven manufacturing environment.
The Production Manager will play a central role in ensuring high quality product is delivered on time and to managed cost, directly leading an operational team covering mechanical and/or electrical assembly, test and QC activities. If you’re a confident Production Manager who enjoys leading from the front and driving operational performance, this is a role where you can make a real impact.
As Production Manager, you will:
• Directly lead and manage your operational team, ensuring performance, behaviours, welfare and development are proactively supported
• Identify resource gaps and ensure capacity aligns with production demand
• Develop, monitor and act upon operational KPIs
• Drive continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility
• Support daily team meetings for your product range
• Ensure all areas adhere to 6S principles
• Implement and promote lean manufacturing methodologies
• Work closely with Health & Safety to promote a strong safety culture, reporting hazards and near misses and maintaining COSHH practices
• Maintain accurate record keeping and support daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing reporting
• Ensure materials are prepared and available to the production line
• Liaise with cross-functional teams where there is risk to delivery schedules
• Attend Gate Reviews, Engineering Reviews and Project Reviews to provide operational input
• Monitor and reduce rework levels
• Ensure compliance with company operating procedures, policies and standards
To be considered for this Production Manager role, you will need:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally within a regulated or defence-standard setting
• Proven experience leading and managing teams with the confidence to address performance issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
• A solid understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Experience using Microsoft Office and company ERP systems
• The ability to collaborate effectively across departments
• Flexibility to support overtime and potential shift pattern changes where required
• A proactive approach to lean, continuous improvement and business improvement methodologies
This Production Manager opportunity offers real responsibility and visibility within the wider management team. The Production Manager will be instrumental in maintaining performance standards, supporting operational delivery and helping shape how production operates day to day.
If you’re an experienced Production Manager looking for a new challenge within a professional and well-established manufacturing environment, I’d welcome a confidential conversation.
