The general hours of work are 42 hours per week, with travel required for attending sites and meetings.

About the role
We're seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Leyland. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering the Quantity Surveying function on assigned projects, set by the Commercial Manager.
What will your role include
7. Taking the lead in the ownership of cost controls on your projects, managing and supporting the site teams as required
8. Preparing monthly CV and forecast reports
9. Reconcile project costs and values monthly through the CVR process.
10. Assess and submit accurate quotations and compensation events.
11. Prepare and submit pricing for maintenance contract works.
12. Maintain accurate scheme costs and resolve queries.
13. Prepare and submit payment applications and final accounts on time
14. Manage subcontractor supply chain, including issuing orders, assessing AFPs, and processing payments.
15. Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
16. Advise on contractual claims, cost overruns, and project scope changes.
17. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and operational staff.
18. Attend internal and external meetings (virtual and in-person) to ensure accurate cost data and efficient project delivery.
Requirements:
19. BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying
20. Experience working with NEC contracts, especially Target Cost
21. Civil engineering, ideally with highway experience
22. Strong Excel, Word, and database skills.
23. Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented.
24. Excellent communication, commercial awareness, and teamwork.
25. Full UK clean driving licence.
What else looks good
26. Knowledge of Cemar would be advantageous
