Residential Support Worker - Children's Home Wallington, Surrey (SM6) Full-time | Permanent Make a Difference Where It Matters Most We are recruiting compassionate, resilient Residential Support Workers to support young people aged 7-17 with emotional, behavioural, and learning needs. You'll work as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality, child-centred care in line with Ofsted standards, while helping young people develop life skills, emotional resilience, and independence. What You'll Be Doing Providing consistent, safe, and child-centred care in a residential setting Supporting young people with daily routines, education, health, and emotional wellbeing Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children's welfare is always the priority Implementing care plans, behaviour support strategies, and risk assessments Maintaining clear, accurate records and contributing to care reviews Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes What We're Looking For Essential: Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection Emotional resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it) Experience supporting children with complex or trauma-related needs Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic care approaches Salary & Career Progression We recognise commitment and development and offer clear progression pathways: Entry-Level Residential Support Worker: £25,000 - £27,000 Qualified Residential Support Worker: £28,000 - £32,000 Senior Residential Support Worker: £32,000 - £36,075 (Salary dependent on experience and qualifications) What You'll Receive Company pension Additional annual leave Health & wellbeing programme Sick pay Free on-site parking Ongoing training and development opportunities Safeguarding We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
