Pharmacy Manager

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy services within a private hospital setting, with a specialist focus on oncology. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and advancing oncology pharmacy practice.
As the Pharmacy Manager, you will ensure compliance with medicines optimisation policies and procedures, oversee pharmaceutical stock procurement, and deliver expert clinical support across a range of departments including Oncology, Pre-Assessment Clinic, Outpatients, Wards, and Theatres.
You will demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, thrive under pressure, and inspire your team to continually improve service quality and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and expert advice on medicines management across all clinical departments.
* Chair the quarterly Medicines Management Forum and ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
* Offer specialist clinical input into oncology treatment pathways and medicines optimisation.
* Lead, motivate, and manage the pharmacy team to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective care.
* Act as the Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead, conducting audits and supporting infection prevention initiatives.
* Oversee daily ward rounds, medication reconciliation, patient counselling, and discharge processes.
* Manage controlled drugs procedures and quarterly audits in line with Department of Health guidance.
* Investigate and manage medication-related incidents, errors, and complaints in accordance with governance processes.
* Support multidisciplinary teams through education, training, and sharing evidence-based practice.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Significant experience in oncology pharmacy (hospital or specialist setting).
* Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or oncology (desirable but not essential).
* Proven leadership or managerial experience in a pharmacy setting.
* Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills.
